SPOTLIGHT ON EMMANUEL:
Educational Background
Emmanuel started Police Academy school for his crèche and nursery education. He then moved to Nana Kwaku Boateng ‘A’ for his Primary and Junior High School education where he wrote his BECE (in Koforidua. He then went to Presbyterian Senior High School, Begoro for his Senior High School Education where he studied General Science and wrote his WASSCE exam. He then moved to the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, where he studied Mathematics.
Passion and Impact
Emmanuel was helping individuals in his small way in terms of mathematics until one of his friends posted something about Kids and Math. He was wowed by that and took advantage of this opportunity to join Kids and Math. He was in Kumasi because he was schooling there. His volunteer group in the Kumasi Chapter took part in teaching sessions at Asem Boys Basic School.
Due to his clear focus and interest in Kid and Math, he pioneered the Kids and Math Koforidua Chapter upon a suggestion by the Executive Director of Kids and Math. He found this challenging since time was a constraint on him. He finally decided to take this challenge head-on and pioneered the Koforidua Chapter. He shared this information with a number of friends and recruited volunteers for the Koforidua Chapter. The chapter has impacted 100 students through virtual and physical teaching sessions. These students are from Emmanuel’s alma mater – Nana Kwaku Boateng ‘B’. They have teaching sessions weekly from Monday to Wednesday where they help these students explore fun mathematical concepts.
Future Prospects
Emmanuel wants to play a part in growing Kids and Math and making it better to help individuals overcome mathematics phobia.
